Hi Ian,
When I sing in falsetto I'm able to hold a note for much longer than when I sing in chest voice. Do you have any idea why this is?

Hi Saichoo,
As we sing higher we require less air to create sound. The reason for this is the vocal cords lenghten and thin out as we move into head voice. Falsetto is a little different but the same principle applies. As the cords lengthen the space between them is much smaller. Less space = Less air to travel through.
When singing in chest voice the cords are much further apart which allows more air to pass through.
I hope that helps,
Ian

Thanks Ian, that makes a lot of sense. I guess I'm probably singing in head voice then.
